Introduction to Relief and Recovery Centres
This one day session aims to provide an overview of the operation and management of an emergency recovery centre. Using municipal recovery planning principles and frameworks, participants shall select, establish and operate an emergency recovery centre over a nominated timeframe. The session is run in conjunction with the Victorian State Emergency Service (external link), and aims to provide key relief and recovery stakeholders with an overview of the operation and management of an emergency relief centre and an emergency recovery centre.
Using municipal recovery planning principles and frameworks, participants select, establish and operate firstly, an emergency relief centre, and then progress to the establishment of a recovery centre.

- Staff management
- Information and communications
- Service delivery
