Health Service Personal Protective Equipment and Decontamination: Presenters Guide

presenters guide

The Department of Human Services, in conjunction with Victoria's public hospitals, has produced a new package of training resources to assist hospital educators in preparing the state's public hospitals for events which result in contaminated casualties.

The package includes guidance for facilitators on learning outcomes and content for 9 customisable sessions, ranging from a basic introduction to setting up and conducting patient decontamination. The package also provides slide presentations, decontamination action guides, personalised PPE fitting guides for operational staff and a range of reading and reference materials on specific aspects of PPE and decontamination.

The Health Services PPE and Decontamination package has been distributed to all Victorian public hospitals that have received department funded Level C PPE.

This package has been designed to complement the Decontamination guidance for hospitals published in May 2007.
