Bushfire Recovery

The Department of Human Services is responsible for helping Victorians recover after the bushfires.

Do you need help recovering from the bushfires?Who to speak to

  • Community service hub staff will provide you with immediate and ongoing assistance.
  • Victorian Bushfire Case Management Service provides a case manager to assist with the range of services and supports available.
  • Victorian Bushfire and Storm Information Line - call 1800 240 667 for a wide range of bushfire information.

The 2009 Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission Interim Report was tabled in Parliament on Monday 17 August 2009. The Commission's Interim Report and Executive Summary are available from the Royal Commission Website.

Copies of the Interim Report and Executive Summary can be ordered from Information Victoria on 1300 366 356 or bookshop@diird.vic.gov.au, and will be available from libraries in fire-affected areas from Wednesday 19 August.
