Changing Days Initiative
The Victorian State Government is committed to creating new and more inclusive opportunities for people with a disability accessing Disability Day Services.
The Changing Days Initiative is part of a suite of initiatives to progress the reorientation of Disability Day services to provide greater flexibility and choice to people with a disability in how they use the supports available to them.
In 2006-2008 the focus of the funding was to support Disability Day Services to transition to new service delivery approaches that provide planning and support in the community, real choice, and viable pathways to employment and social participation through partnerships with local, generic and community services.
In 2008-2010 the focus will continue to be on strengthening the participation of people with a disability and their supporters in making informed choices about how they use their disability supports.

Community Facility Redevelopment Initiative
The Victorian Government has invested $10 million towards the Community Facility Redevelopment Initiative (CFRI). This initiative aims to support Day Services to move from segregated facilities to community facilities where people with a disability are genuinely included in, and able to access a range of program supports and services. A key element of this initiative is the establishment of partnerships with other community organisations and community members.
- Establishing community-based, co-located facilities where disability supports are genuinely integrated with other community services and/or
- Improving accessibility to generic community facilities for people with disabilities
