Audit report
Your auditors will provide you with a written report documenting their findings and the evidence for the conclusions they have drawn. The report will include observations of good practice and recommendations for actions to improve quality where the evidence indicates that it is needed.
At this time, the department has no plans to publish the results of individual audits.
Audit outcomes
There are three possible audit outcomes:
- Certification – you have provided evidence to demonstrate that your organisation meets the Standards. The certification body has validated the evidence and accepted it as sufficient. Your organisation will be certified as compliant with the Standards.
- Certification with conditions – you have provided evidence to demonstrate that your organisation meets the Standards. The certification body may be unable to validate all of the evidence, or the evidence may be insufficient. Your service may be certified as compliant with the Standards subject to validation of evidence missing during audit within a specified timeframe.
- Non-certification – you are unable to provide evidence to demonstrate that your service meets the Standards. Your organisation will not be certified as compliant with the Standards. Additional audit(s) will be required within a specified timeframe to confirm that non-conformities have been addressed.

NEW January 2009
The audit report will be additional information that the department will take into account. Departmental policy and the Disability Act 2006 do not solely link certification to registration or organisational funding.
