Quality Framework training
The department is providing more training opportunities in 2009 for disability service providers to improve their knowledge and ability to implement the Quality Framework and prepare for independent monitoring.
Two training courses (Understanding the Quality Framework and Closing the Loop) are available for service providers and are targeted at those people who will be leading their organisation or department-managed service to implement the Quality Framework and participate in independent monitoring - CEOs, senior managers and quality leaders.
A third course (Preparing to Audit Disability Services in Victoria) provides mandatory training for audit team members.
Training will be available for a limited time and is free – don’t miss out! See below for more details.
'Understanding the Quality Framework’ Training
Did you miss out on the Understanding the Quality Framework training in 2008?
The LDC Group have been contracted to deliver 8 more sessions in the Melbourne CBD.
This free training program is targeted at CEOs, senior managers and quality leaders in each organisation, to give them the skills and knowledge to:
- assist their organisation to better understand the Quality Framework
- build on the organisation's skills and knowledge to implement quality management practice
- prepare the organisation to undertake organisational self-assessment against both the Industry and Outcome Standards
- incorporate and commence self-assessment against the Industry Standards and Outcome Standards.
The training is specifically tailored for those people who will be leading their organisation through the changes the Quality Framework has introduced – particularly the focus on outcomes and independent monitoring. It will equip these leaders to support other stakeholders to implement the Quality Framework within their organisation.
This is your last chance to attend this training which is a pre-requisite for the Closing the Loop training, detailed below.

‘Closing the Loop’ training

The department has contracted Precision Consultancy to provide this free training program which is targeted at CEOs, senior managers and quality leaders in each organisation.
The overall program is run over 1.5 days but in recognition of the different levels of experience with audit processes, the training will be offered in two separate components:
- 'Audit Basics' (half-day) will focus on the mechanics of hosting an audit and is targeted specifically at disability service providers who have never facilitated an independent audit in their workplace
- 'Assessing Evidence against the standards' (full-day) will provide information specific to auditing (gathering evidence, assessing conformance and recommending further action) against the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria. It is targeted at all registered disability service providers.
Further information and booking details are available on the Precision Consultancy website (External website).
