Workforce development and learning
The Workforce Development and Learning (WDL) program aims to support and foster a culture of learning across government and community service organisations in the disability sector.
The Workforce Development and Learning strategy guides the work. Its focus is to support the disability sector to explore the benefits of competency-based training. One way of doing this is through modelling practice through initiatives with the government workforce.
The aim is for development and learning to be directed by the needs of people with a disability and the skill gaps of individual workers. Competency-based training provides pathways to qualifications making it a more efficient and effective form of professional development.
