Kindergarten fee subsidy
The kindergarten fee subsidy is government funding paid to organisations to enable eligible families to attend kindergarten for free or minimal cost. Kindergarten refers to the funded program generally in the year before children start school, when they are four years of age by 30 April of that year.
From 1 January 2009, the fee subsidy is $751.20 per annum (or $187.80 per term). Eligible families will then receive a 10 hour a week kindergarten program at no cost, or a longer program at a small cost.
