The Victorian Government Recognises Carers
Carers can begin applying for the new Carer Card Program beginning 1 July 2010. The Victorian Government Carer Card is a new discounts and benefits card for unpaid primary carers in Victoria. The Carer Card program is a collaboration of Government, community and business that is being established to provide recognition, understanding and support for Victorian carers.

Do you need help with Non Mains Winter Energy Costs?
You can now claim your Non-Mains Winter Energy concession from 1 July 2010 if you buy Liquefied Petroleum Gas, non-mains electricity or an alternative fuel, such as heating oil or generator fuel, for domestic purposes.

Municipal Rate rebate for POW's & Disabled Veterans
The Victorian Government is increasing their support to Prisoners of War and Disabled Veterans, now extending them the Municipal Rates concession. The concession allows for a 50 per cent reduction in council rates at the ratepayers principal place of residence, up to $187.60 in 2010-2011.
