Early Years Awards 2006
Recipients of the Early Years Awards 2006 were announced on 24 October 2006 at the Awards ceremony at the Sofitel Melbourne.
The Early Years Awards recognise exceptional contributions towards improving the health, learning, development and wellbeing of all Victorian children.
The three award categories, reflect the aims of Best Start:
- Better access to child and family support, health services and early education
- Improvements in parent's capacity, confidence and enjoyment of family life
- Communities that are becoming more child and family friendly
In addition a Minister's Award was given recognising a partnership approach to inclusive practices for children, families and the community.
Four awards of $5,000 each were awarded to the winning organisations for professional development.
