Metro Health Home < Programs Branch < Service and Capital Planning SectionManager: Sue BrennanEnquiries: The Service and Capital Planning Section is primarily responsible for leading service planning projects for metropolitan health services and other health services in metropolitan Melbourne, and Statewide projects in selected acute health areas. Further, the Section is responsible for representing the interests of the Metropolitan Health & Aged Care Services Division in capital developments to ensure the provision of efficient and effective health facilities. The Section is also responsible for representing the Metropolitan Health & Aged Care Services Division interests in the development of asset investment strategies including the annual capital program to ensure the sustainable provision of appropriate health care facilities in the metropolitan area. Medical Equipment ProgramFunding is provided through a submission-based process for the upgrade and replacement of medical equipment in a range of metropolitan and rural health facilities. These include acute services in public hospitals, dental equipment in public dental health services, mental health services, aged care services and diagnostic equipment funded through the Public Health Program. Ten Year Capital Plan This project aims to develop a Ten Year Capital Health Plan which provides a framework for the investment and development of the Victorian public health system over the next ten years. The implementation of this Statewide framework will ensure that there is a responsible approach to the investment in replacing and upgrading health service capacity for the benefit of all Victorians.
