The Health Information Section is responsible for the Department’s key hospital information databases including the Victorian Admitted Episodes Dataset (VAED), the Victorian Emergency Minimum Dataset (VEMD), the Elective Surgery Information System (ESIS), and the Agency Information Management System (AIMS). The Section coordinates Departmental involvement in the work of the National Health Information Standards and Statistics Committee (NHISSC) and related national health information bodies.
