  1. Weights are based on cost data from 8 hospitals participating in the 1996 Cost Weights Study.
  2. Weights are not detailed for VACS 550 - 609 as these categories are funded as fixed grants for 1997-98.
  3. Weights for the following categories have been adjusted following review of the cost data and clinical input:

- VAC 108 has been set equal to the 1996 average cost

- VAC 203 has been set equal to an average cost of $145 per encounter

- VAC 311 has been set equal to VAC 310.
