3. Revenue
3.1
Consistent with its agreed role and function, the hospital will pursue strategies to achieve its agreed revenue budget.3.2
The hospital will raise fees in accordance th the Department's fees manual. The hospital's revenue budgets will be adjusted for any changes in admitted patient fee levels.3.3
Any shortfalls in admitted patient fees revenue due to a change in the number of private patient beddays will be made good by the Department. Any increases in admitted patient fees revenue resulting from a change in the number of private patient beddays will be recouped by the Department. Any shortfalls in revenue which result from failure to achieve collection standards will not be adjusted by the Department.3.4Admitted patient fees revenue includes fees raised for prostheses.3.5
Any shortfall in outpatient revenue will be absorbed by the hospital. Any revenue generated in excess of the target will be retained by the hospital.3.6
Hospitals will not raise fees for public outpatient services except for:(a) dental services;
(b) spectacles and hearing aids;
(c) pharmaceutical;
(d) surgical supplies, prostheses, aids and appliances and home modifications; and
(e) compensable and ineligible patients.
