4.2 Non-Admitted Patient
Grants-Other Hospitals
Outpatient budgets for Group B hospitals have been divided into an emergency services grant and an outpatient grant. The Emergency Services Grant has been established on the same basis for Group A hospitals. A reduction of 3.5 per cent has been applied to the outpatient component only of the current grants, as part of the overall adjustment necessary following the penalty imposed by the Commonwealth for outpatient cost shifting.
Non-admitted patient budgets for Group C, D and E hospitals will essentially be unchanged from 1996-97.
