Rock Eisteddfod Challenge

Rock Eisteddfod Challenge

Schools are invited to join the annual Rock Eisteddfod Challenge (REC), a national competition that gives young people the opportunity to showcase their musical talents through a performance based on a theme of their choice.

Young people plan and perform an eight-minute dance and music-based commentary on their lives and issues that are important to them.

Students, teachers and entire communities work together to plan and rehearse before competing against other schools at events in a totally drug-and alcohol-free environment.

In 2011, the 31st year of REC, Victorian participants will join 300 Australian secondary schools and 25,000 students to compete across Australia.

Get involved!

Past teams competing in the REC have been as small as 20 and as large as 142.

If you would like your school to participate, visit the REC website and fill out an Expression of Interest form. A range of production tips on the website will help you get things going.
