Valley Park Redevelopment

The $160 million Valley Park redevelopment is a partnership between the Victorian Government, residential developer Frasers Property (formerly Australand) and not-for-profit Baptcare.

Valley Park replaces the outdated Mews public housing estate and two former surplus school sites acquired from the Department of Education.

The mix of public and private housing is designed to create an integrated and vibrant community.

When completed, Valley Park will include:

  • 144 new social housing homes
  • more than 210 new homes for private sale
  • a 90-bed supported aged care centre
  • new landscaped parks, bike and pedestrian paths
  • improved community park facilities and sporting/fitness areas.

Progress

2017 - 90-bed aged care centre underway (ready for operation early 2018)
2016 - 18-unit apartment complex completed
2014 - 20 private properties and eight public properties in stages one - four completed
2013 - construction began on the first homes
2012 - civil works on the former public housing site commenced - roads and drains built
2010 - two former school sites acquired to make way for new homes and open space
2008 - redevelopment announced
