Multi-disciplinary centres

There are currently four multi-disciplinary centres operating across Victoria in Geelong, Mildura, Seaford (formerly Frankston) and Dandenong.

Multi-disciplinary Centres bring together Victoria Police, child protection and sexual assault counselling services at the one site to provide integrated support for adults and children who have experienced sexual assault.

The Dandenong Multi-disciplinary Centre opened in October 2014 and is the state’s principal centre, with forensic medical services on site. Two further centres are planned for Bendigo and Morwell and are expected to be operational in 2015.

In late 2014 the Victorian Government announced a new multi-disciplinary Centre to be located in Wyndham and the expansion of the existing Geelong Multi-disciplinary Centre. Both centres will deliver sexual assault and family violence responses to protect vulnerable women and children.
