Promoting High Quality Services for Children, Youth and Families
This paper outlines the registration processes being established to support community service organisations (CSOs) involved in family and out of home care services to provide high quality services. These processes are being created by the Department of Human Services (DHS) as part of the implementation of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (CYFA). This Act is a key building block to support the every child, every chance reform strategy intended to promote children's rights to safety, stability and healthy development.
The information contained in this paper highlights the collaborative strategies that assist CSOs involved in family and out of home care to meet quality requirements and promote continuous quality improvement. It aims to create a transparent understanding of the shared responsibility of the department and CSOs to promote services that are outcome driven, informed by evidence and work to meet community service standards.
