Corporate Services in Gippsland Region
Corporate Services is responsible for delivery of Financial, Accounting and Business Services, Human Resources, Information Systems and Program Support functions within the region. Corporate Services also has a critical role in disaster support and recovery activities and supports this function across the region.
A summary of each function follows:
Financial Services
Primary responsibility for; Service agreement administration; Budget preparation and financial analysis; Hospital data collection; Funded agency payments; and the Victorian Patient Transport Assistance Scheme.
Accounting Services
As a dedicated team we provide help and assistance over a broad range of financial services including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, assistance payments and personal expenses.
Business Services
Business Services provides a wide range of services to program areas including providing suitable office accommodation, a maintained and updated vehicle fleet, the purchase and supply of stores and services, the recording and maintaining of departmental assets, and the provision of reception services to the regional office. It also provides the records management system and retrieval of documents from archives as well as processing Freedom of Information requests.
The Business Services Manager also undertakes the role of Coordinator, Fire Risk Management Strategy for the region, which incorporates the Fire Safety Policy and guidelines of the department.
Emergency Management
Corporate services also has a critical role in disaster support and recovery activities and supports this function across the region.
Human Resources
Human Resources provides a wide range of operational and consultative services to program areas and staff throughout the region. Advice on workforce planning, recruitment, occupational health and safety, WorkCover, injury management and rehabilitation, performance management, industrial relations and personnel and organisational development are some of the main areas of advice and support provided. The unit is also responsible for the provision of IT training and payroll services to the region.
Information Technology and Telecommunications
Responsibilities include user support, maintenance of hardware and software, ensuring compliance with departmental standards, ensuring provision of most effective and economical telecommunications systems, acquisition and disposal of computer equipment.
Program Support
Program Support provides a wide range of support service functions to all program areas, including reception services, financial services, emergency management and fleet services from sub office locations in Bairnsdale, Sale, Morwell, Leongatha and Warragul. The Manager Program Support also provides budget monitoring and advice.
