We want to hear from you about youth policy!

17 September 2015

Taking things high tech, a new virtual platform is available for young people, their families and carers, community leaders and organisations, to provide support for young people to come together and discuss their thoughts and ideas.

Getting involved is easy!

Just visit the Youth Central website and select the section most relevant to you.

Each sector group has its own customised area where participants have the opportunity to come together with their peers and be involved in online discussion forums, polls, Q and As, and surveys.

The discussions and ideas put forward on the platform will help inform the Victorian Government’s new youth policy.

The new whole-of-government youth policy will provide a coordinated approach to the way the Victorian Government supports young people.

Once developed, the youth policy will:

  • guide the development of government policies and programs and the way government engages with young people
  • identify new government action to improve outcomes for young people
  • increase the focus on preventing problems and addressing them early
  • support seamless pathways and transitions between school, training and work that supports young people to succeed at school, get a job and be connected to the community.
