Carers make a substantial contribution to the wellbeing of the broader community.

While carers support people in their day to day activities, they may need support to stay healthy and well. Linking carers to appropriate services to support them is essential to help them maintain their care role, health and wellbeing.

To make it easier for people to understand the support they may be eligible to receive, an updated information kit is now available on the Carers Recognition Act - supporting people in care relationships web page.

The information kit contains fact sheets for organisations and for carers, to help carers understand what the Carers Recognition Act 2012 means for them. The kit has a poster and postcards in six languages, and provides other resources and information about services and resources available to support carers in their care role.
