$12.3 million in Engage! grants

Minister Smith engages with Warrandyte young people and youth workers

More than 100 youth service providers, local government and not-for-profit organisations recently received a share in $12.3 million Engage! funding. This funding will be used to develop opportunities for young people to volunteer, participate in mentoring, explore education and employment pathways, as well as increase connections with their community and family.

The 102 successful applicants will receive $30,000 to $50,000 in annual funding for three years to deliver a range of activities that help develop programs and activities for young people aged 12-25 years.

Specific Engage! activities may include leadership training, life skills, social enterprise programs, conflict resolution, as well as opportunities to develop career pathways in hospitality, mechanics and graphic design.

Minister Smith engages with Warrandyte young people and youth workersThe Engage! activities will respond to the specific needs of Victoria’s diverse community including young people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, young people at risk of disengaging with school and their community, people with a disability, young parents, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
