Fire safety in your home - smoke and sprinkler equipment information in languages

The Department of Human Services Fire Risk Management Unit has produced documents to explain the fire protection equipment installed in Public Housing properties.

Fire sprinkler

The fire sprinkler information fact sheets remind tenants DO NOT touch or play with the equipment in any way as this may cause water damage to the property and your household items. In the event of a fire in your home, the sprinkler will activate releasing required amounts of water to reduce the fire until help arrives.

Smoke alarm

The fire smoke alarm information fact sheet explains the funtion of the smoke alarm as well as reminding tenants to test and clean the smoke alarm monthly.

If there is a problem with the smoke alarm it must be reported to the Housing Call Centre on 13 11 72.

If there is a fire in your home evacuate and call triple 000.
