Digital stories are a valuable resource that highlight key issues about various aspects of the quality framework by sharing people's personal experiences in brief video format.
There are two digital story themes available:
- independent monitoring
- quality in practice
Individuals and Victorian disability service providers may use the digital stories contained on this webpage, and complete the activity sheets, for educational purposes in relation to the Quality Framework for Disability Services in Victoria. The digital stories may be freely viewed, however, if you wish to use them outside of Victoria or in a different context, permission must be sought from the Department of Human Services. This is in part because the digital stories have been prepared solely for the Victorian context. Please email your request to qualityindisability@dhs.vic.gov.au. The Department of Human Services confirms that it retains its copyright in the works contained on this webpage.
Independent Monitoring Digital Stories
Three digital stories have been developed to enable disability service providers to learn from the experiences of the independent monitoring demonstration project participants. To view the stories, visit the Independent Monitoring Digital Stories webpage.
Quality in Practice Digital Stories and Activity Sheets
This series of brief clips provide examples of quality concepts in practice relating to what is important to organisations (practice areas) and what is important to people (life areas). They are first hand accounts from people with a disability, their family members and carers and service providers.
Activity sheets encourage disability service providers to reflect on their understanding of areas of good practice important to organisations and areas of life important to people.
By viewing the digital stories and completing the accompanying activity sheets you will gain an increased understanding of the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria.
