Individual needs: Special housing requirements operational guidelines

Tenants may request modifications to their existing public housing property due to a medical condition or disability. Approval of modifications is dependent on the type, severity and evidence provided from a relevant medical practitioner. Where the medical condition requires a tenant or their household member’s transfer from the property, the Special Accommodation Requirements operational guidelines of the Victorian Housing Register are to be applied.

The Victorian Housing Register’s Matching Clients with housing and Special Accommodation Requirements (SAR) operational guidelines and related Special Accommodation Requirements form is completed by social housing applicants on the register or public housing clients who require a transfer to another property in order to address their medical condition or disability.
